Bristol Office Continues to Flourish

Posted 10 August 2025   By Easton Bevins

With three new starters plus first-class UWE graduates Emily and Patrick joining permanently, our Bristol team is going from strength-to-strength – with no signs of slowing down.

When Ben Hayler joined the Bristol office as Associate Director in December 2024, he brought a shared vision for long-term growth. In an industry notorious for high staff turnover, he recognised that an empowered, settled team is the bedrock. What shines on the outside begins on the inside.

And so, as a business, Easton Bevins has taken a step back. We are committed to building a culture of staff retention and to being seen as a standard-bearer in the industry. Our ambition is to facilitate rewarding careers – with the right balance of autonomy and mentoring, in a space where staff feel heard and valued. But getting the right personnel in from the outset is key.

Bristol Team Taking Shape

In addition to Ben, since spring, we have welcomed five new permanent members and our latest student placement to the Bristol team:

  • Lindsay Smith, Associate Director. Working alongside Ben and bringing focus to the APCs.
  • Miles Drake, Senior Surveyor. Recognised the opportunities for growth and mentoring.
  • Ben Blackwell, Building Surveyor. Cited support on his APC journey as key.
  • Emily Buckeridge. Joined permanently following her first-class degree from UWE.
  • Patrick Garrett. Joined permanently following his first-class degree from UWE.
  • Jac Humphries. Our latest UWE placement student.

UWE Partnership Key to Success

As the recruitment of Lindsay demonstrates, part of our long-term strategy is identifying, supporting and retaining the best emerging talent – and the RICS-accredited Building Surveying degree at UWE is central.

With most of our Bristol team graduating from the course – including all five permanent new team members – we continue to build on our long-standing partnership with the University of the West of England, offering students the best placement opportunities and long-term career prospects.

Investing in our people is investing in our future. I’m excited to see how the business and the team evolve.”

Ben Hayler, Associate Director, commented: ‘I knew when I joined Easton Bevins that I’d arrived at an exciting time. Bringing others in to shape and share the journey from a position of strength is key, so I’m thrilled we’ve added depth and leadership. And absolutely, bringing the best new talent into the business and supporting them as they become chartered is fundamental. Investing in our people is investing in our future. I’m excited to see how the business and the team evolve.’
