The style of management at Easton Bevins definitely suits me - we are part of a team, but we also work independently and are individually responsible for managing our own work flow.

“We are a great team, everyone gets on and we are all very supportive of each other.”
I’d been working as a surveyor at a social housing association and felt ready to move on. I found Easton Bevins and liked what I saw. I wanted to work towards my RICS qualification and was impressed by the way they structured their APC. I joined, qualified, and have now been here for four years.
Working at Easton Bevins is great because every day is different. I’m involved in lots of projects, some for our block management team and some for private clients. My work includes contract administration as well as residential and commercial building surveys and I like doing both.
What I most enjoy is the variety. I don’t think doing the same thing day in day out is good for personal development. Variety is good for you and it really helped me when I was working towards my APC as it allowed me to cover off required competencies and experiences, and complete my course in good time.
Easton Bevins style of management definitely suits me. We are part of a team but we also work independently, and are responsible for managing our own work flow. I think the managers have got the balance right, you’re not micro-managed but you can get advice and guidance if you need it.
We are a great team; everyone gets on and we are all very supportive of each other. Having spoken to other surveyors I get the sense that working at some of the big corporates you can feel like you’re just a number. Whilst Easton Bevins is growing, meaning there are plenty of opportunities, you still feel like a valued member of the team. I also think opportunities for progression are more readily available here than in some of the larger practices. Now, with my APC in place and having gained experience I’m hoping to progress to a more senior role.
Yes, I would. The company sponsors a number of placements and actively supports staff through their APC. I found having a group of graduates working together really useful as you can help each other get through the course work.
I currently support two placement students and they are progressing nicely. Also the two placement students that were here last year have just been retained, the fact they want to come back seems further proof that it’s a nice place to work.
