We have carried out numerous disability adaptations, extensions and new build projects for clients living in or moving to Bristol and the South West.
Our involvement is usually required following an accident or unfortunate incident that has resulted in life-changing injuries and requires complex adjustments to meet the needs of the client, and their family.
From suitability assessments to creating designs for the adaptations, producing detailed costings and overseeing the project, our dedicated experts can fully support any project from inception to final completion.
When a physical or mental impairment impacts a tenants ability to carry out normal day-to-day activities, a well thought-through disability adjustment can make a huge difference. Also, adjusting a person’s living space to meet their needs often works out to be more cost-efficient and less disruptive than relocation.
Our experienced team works with local councils and social landlords to implement disability adjustments on properties in and around Bristol and the South West.
Our involvement often allows the person to continue living independently which can lead to a more positive long-term outcome.
From pre-acquisition surveys, right through to the completion of a project, our dedicated experts are here to help.
With an in-house team of qualified experts covering all aspects of the process you can be sure that all works will be carried out to the highest standards and completed on time and within budget.
We have a dedicated disability team, experienced in undertaking preacquisition and measured building surveys, as well as conducting suitability assessments of residential properties requiring adaptation to accommodate a disabled person.
Our experts can provide all services required to complete the reports, including full assessment of the client’s requirements in association with other appropriate parties.
Our disability and litigation department is able to prepare accommodation and housing reports in accordance with the housing needs of a disabled person. We can also provide accommodation reports for submission as part of a claim.
We offer a full range of architectural services for adapting, extending and refurbishing residential properties to accommodate the requirements of a disabled person, and potentially their family.
Led by a RIBA qualified architect, our architectural team can prepare a number of outline proposals based on the care and accommodation report, taking into account the case manager/occupational therapist’s comments and guidance.
We can also produce 3D renders of our designs to give an accurate visualisation of the buildings interior and exterior.
At every stage, we ensure that the needs of our clients have been fully considered, and that the end result will meet their requirements.
Once designs have been finalised, we will obtain all necessary statutory consents in relation to the alterations required to the property.
Then, following receipt of statutory consents, we’ll prepare a cost analysis and detailed specification of works ready to send out to tender.
Once tender submissions have been received, we can analyse these to assist with the selection of a suitable contractor.
After the contractor has been selected, our team will prepare the building contract, and then co-ordinate the works throughout the project to final completion.
Our involvement helps ensure the quality of the work undertaken throughout, and that the project is delivered on time and within budget.
Following completion, we will also review all works with the client to ensure they are entirely satisfied with the end result.
