In Brief:
The site, a former garden centre to the western edge of the market town of Dursley and set in 20 acres of woods and fields, provided the location for a new larger replacement centre designed to incorporate a restaurant, shop, deli, coffee hut, garden shop and gardens.
Easton Bevins was appointed to satisfy outstanding planning conditions before producing tender documentation and working drawings, with particular attention given to the incorporation of the oak framework present in all three of the buildings.
The sloped nature of the site meant accurate set-out of the ground slab was of vital importance. The result was a range of buildings integrated into the landscape with the raised terrazzo offering a sitting and dining opportunity with views across the surrounding landscape.
